Preventive dentistry
Prevention is better than cure. This applies pre-eminently to preventive dentistry. With periodic dental checks, early dental problems are diagnosed and addressed. Preventive dentistry at Rembrandt Dental Clinic focuses on the prevention of cavities (caries), gum problems and tooth wear. It is therefore important to have your teeth checked at least every six months. We also offer oral hygiene treatments in our dental practice.
Oral hygiene and health
Damage to your teeth can have serious consequences for your health and that of your children. Oral hygiene among children is deteriorating, leading to tooth erosion and other dental problems. Scientific studies show that poor oral hygiene increases the risk of arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, brain disorders, diabetes and lung complaints. In short: good dental health is important for your overall health.
Fluoride and plaque control
Preventive dentistry at Tandartspraktijk Rembrandt is expressed in different ways. Fluoride is a powerful agent against tooth decay. Our prevention assistant gives young children a fluoride treatment, to protect the baby teeth from caries. You will be advised about fluoride-containing toothpastes and fluoride mouthwashes. Plaque is harmful to your teeth. If plaque remains on the teeth for too long, it hardens into tartar. At Rembrandt Dental Clinic, you can go for plaque control, or a thorough mouth cleaning. This is essential to prevent tooth decay (caries) or gum inflammation (gingivitis or periodontitis).
X-rays and sealing
X-rays can be used to make a correct diagnosis of the condition of the teeth. Different kinds of pictures can be taken. A bite-wing is an overview picture of part of the teeth, an orthopantomogram (OPT) shows the entire teeth and jaw on the X-ray. A solo photo of the crown or root can also be taken. The Rembrandt dental office is also specialised in sealing teeth, i.e. sealing or sealing the pits and grooves in your teeth. These areas are susceptible to plaque or caries.
